I transformed my Los Angeles travel memories into a mixed media collage journal, layering photos, acrylic paint, and hand-painted papers to create a personal keepsake. This project allowed me to experiment with creative play while capturing the essence of my trip. Here’s a peek at what I created and how it’s evolving.
One of the most fulfilling parts of my creative journey is making time for creative play. This month, I found inspiration on my shelf: an old, unused notebook I nearly tossed. Instead, I decided to give its pages new life through paint, mark-making, and joyful experimentation.
This past weekend, I had the pleasure of hand-delivering a custom mixed media collage art piece to my friend in Boston. Seeing her excitement and how beautifully the piece fits into her home was incredibly rewarding!
I am honored to receive an art grant from Peters Valley School of Craft on behalf of The New Jersey Arts and Culture Renewal Fund of the Princeton Area Community Foundation.
What an amazing year of mixed media art learning! I’ve learned so many new techniques and ways to use acrylic paint, watercolor, graphite, paint pens, stencils, stamps, markers, tracing paper, tissue paper, watercolor paper, cardboard boxes and brown kraft paper to add pattern and texture to my mixed media art. Here are some of my favorite projects that I completed this summer.
