Wedding Keepsake Gift Idea

Wedding Keepsake Gift Idea

I recently completed a special project where I created a natural dye from the petals of a wedding bouquet to dye fabric for a table linen set. This unique wedding keepsake was a gift from the maid of honor for the bride.

Having this ultra-unique keepsake displayed at home is a guaranteed way to bring back sweet sentiments and emotions of your special day.   Not to mention it’s functional too! Next time you throw a dinner party, these special table linens will help you remember every wedding day detail for years to come.

Here’s a peek into my design process….

The petals were removed from the bouquet and brewed in hot water to create a dye. The fabric was then dipped in the flower dye that produced the yellowish-antique colored fabric (step 4). A second dye color in purple was added (step 5). The final touch was to hand block print the flower and leaf design embellished with a touch of gold (step 6 & 7).
