Make this Year Your Best Creative Year

Happy New Year!

As we start a new year I would like to encourage you to make a commitment to be more creative this year. Life can be stressful – there will always be ups and downs to deal with. Even during stressful times, the one thing that always helps me find peace and calmness is doing something creative.

The adult coloring book craze is not over and continues to be a trend. And to be honest coloring really is very therapeutic! Have you tried it?

I have many hand-drawn prints in my portfolio that I thought it might be time to do something with them and perhaps create my own color sheets.

So I’m starting the year by offering you a FREE pattern PDF download. Print this out and start coloring!

My favorite coloring supplies are Sharpie markers. These set of 24 colors along with the metallic Sharpies are the best. Of course you can also use crayons, color pencils or pastels.

The Pattern

I know it’s only January, but this nature inspired print might entice you to think of spring, blooming flowers and warm summer air.

Even though I love nature and spending time in it, designing nature inspired prints is not my normal style. However I thought I would try something new and I kind of like it!

What can you do with this pattern once you have colored it in? Well you might try uploading it to Spoonflower.com and print your own gift wrap.   You can see my Spoonflower shop here. Another option is to frame it and create your own artist gallery at home or even in the office.

Engaging in creative activity requires making a commitment just like you plan to go to the gym or cook a healthy meal. Make it a point this year to spend at least an hour a week doing something creative.

I’d love to see what you do with this pattern….share with me on Instagram by tagging me @DivineNY

Happy Coloring!
