OUR DESIGN PROCESS:
A blank white tea towel is first dampened with water, then folded in a triangular packet and secured with metal clamps. The dye bath is prepared using powder dyes and the folded packet is submerged for about 45 minutes. The clamps are removed and the unfolded towel is dried flat for 24-48 hours. The dyed towel is folded for a second time into a rectangle packet. This time, plastic or wood boards are placed on either side and the packet is tied with string to secure the boards in place. A second dye bath in a contrasting color is prepared. Each side of the rectangular packet is submerged in the dye bath for about 10 minutes, until all 4 sides are dyed. Once removed from the dye bath, the packet is untied and the boards removed. Once unfolded, a beautiful pattern is revealed! The towel is laid flat to dry, then rinsed in cool water to remove excess dye, dried again, ironed and packaged!
NOTE: Since this item is hand dyed, dye patterns and color intensity will vary on each piece.
